Illustrate Hydrogen Bonding: Amino Acids
Ah. The electronegativity difference between sulphur and hydrogen seems to low to have a hydrogen bond. That would leave structure 1 (also nitrogen and hydrogen have an electronegativity difference that is high enough to create a H-bond). Thank you, Ygggdrasil- MightyMan11

How Much Charge Do Repelling Styrofoam Balls Carry?
Homework Statement Three identical small Styrofoam balls (m = 1.84 g) are suspended from a fixed point by three nonconducting threads, each with a length of 46.5 cm and with negligible mass. At equilibrium the three balls form an equilateral triangle with sides of 30.0 cm. What is the common...- MightyMan11

Monochromatic Light Through Two Microscope Slides
i see. \lambda=\frac{2nd}{m} if m=0, then d would equal zero also, setting P as the 3rd dark fringe, you would get the answer 750nm. however, the equation i stated above happens to be the same equation on my formula sheet as for constructive interference (whereas the dark fringes are...- MightyMan11

Monochromatic Light Through Two Microscope Slides
Homework Statement Monochromatic light of wavelength 500nm shines on a pair of identical glass microscope slides that form a very narrow wedge, as shown in the diagram. The top surface of the upper slide and the bottom surface of the lower slide have special coatings on them so that they do...- MightyMan11

Cart Collision Homework: Calculate Distance Traveled After Bounce
Homework Statement A 478.0 g cart is released from rest 1.16 m from the bottom of a frictionless, 31.0° ramp. The cart rolls down the ramp and undergoes a collision with a rubber block at the bottom. After the cart bounces, how far does it roll back up the ramp if the maximum force applied is...- MightyMan11

What is the speed of the second stage after separation?
Wow, I didn't catch that... Does that mean then the first stage of the rocket is still moving up, just at a slower speed than the second stage? (1192-32.4=speed of first stage)? And since the first stage is "slowing down", if momentum is conserved the second stage should "speed up"?- MightyMan11

What is the speed of the second stage after separation?
Homework Statement A two-stage rocket is traveling at 1192.0 m/s with respect to the Earth when the first stage runs out of fuel. Explosive bolts release the first stage and push it backward with a speed of 32.4 m/s relative to the second stage. The first stage is 2.00 times as massive as the...- MightyMan11
