The Energy of the Trapped Electron in a One-Dimensional Space

Homework Statement Calculate the length of the space L in nm if an electron is trapped in one dimensional space of length L, and shows an absorption at 523nm due to transition from ψ2 to ψ3. Homework Equations Energy expression for particle in box: Ev= (n2h2)/(8mL2) n=1, 2, 3...

Wavefunction: Particle in a 1-dimensional potential Well

Thanks. Ok for the probablity we have this mass m in length of box L with state n=2. we r suppose to calculate probablity for 1st half of the box. I know i have to take integral of half the box from 0 to l/2 but not sure how.

    Wavefunctions and probability-Proof

can I use the normalized particle in a box wavefunction, or should I normalize the constant in another manner.

    Predicting spectroscopic transition positions

I think this question has to do with gaps between energy level.

    Wavefunctions and probability-Proof

Prove that the probability of finding a particle of mass m in a one-dimensional potential well of length L is 0.5 for both the first and second half of the well for the state with n = 2. Demonstrate that these results make sense in light of the form of the wavefunction for each case. Someone...
