Large number of photons occupy the same quantum mechanical state?
Thanks for the reply. Great! I just started reading that. Photons -> bosons -> they can occupy same state Electrons -> fermions -> they can't occupy the same statebecause they are truly indistinguishable according to the Exclusion Principle -> thus we can't design the device How does that sound?- Talib

Large number of photons occupy the same quantum mechanical state?
Homework Statement Lasers produce a beam of light in which a large number of photons occupy the same quantum mechanical state. Is it possible to build a similar device producing such a beam of electrons? Explain. Can anyone help? I don't know on which concept should I base this. I just...- Talib

Solving the Van der Waals Force Problem - Talib
Hello, Can anyone lead me or give me a hint on how to solve this problem? Interaction between neutral atoms and molecules can be decomposed to two different forces: an attractive force at large distances (the Van der Waals force), and a repulsive force at short distances (due to overlap...- Talib

Solving Psi(x,t) for a Harmonic Oscillator
Hello, A harmonic oscillator is in the initial state: Psi(x, 0) = Phi_n (x) where Phi_n(x) is the nth solution of the time-independent Schr¨odinger equation. What is Psi(x, t)? Any clue? Thanks- Talib
