Chess board probability
I didn't get you..how exactly?? Say I take unordered pairs(I'll divide the entire thing by 2 in the end) Now how do I find out how many pairs exist on a chessboard which have only one corner in common?- Tanishq Nandan

Chess board probability
Ooh yeah..I got it..so how do you suggest I find out the possible cases? I see now that there are lots of repetitions,so it won't be possible to subtract them..i guess. So,i think I need a new method.- Tanishq Nandan

Chess board probability
Homework Statement 2 squares are chosen at random from a chess board. What is the chance that these 2 squares will share exactly 1 corner? Homework Equations P=favourable possibilities/Total possibilities The Attempt at a Solution So,the total no of possibilities should be 64C2. Now,for...- Tanishq Nandan

What will be the energy required to make 1 electron escape?
Ooo..ok,i got it. We don't need the Work function because the question already gave us that only 3% OF 4% of the incident energy is already capable of emitting electrons. I just need to equate 0.12% of incident energy to the energy of the ejected electrons. Answer's coming Thanks, both of ya- Tanishq Nandan

What will be the energy required to make 1 electron escape?
Homework Statement Homework Equations E=hc/lamda The Attempt at a Solution I can get the amount of energy incident on the surface (3%of Intensity×Area) What will be the energy required to make 1 electron escape? (4.5eV+hc/250nm )? Then I divide total energy by energy to make 1 electron...- Tanishq Nandan

What is the relationship between critical angle and negative refractive index?
Ok... But the question just says negative..and nothing about the value.I found your link interesting. .but a few(a lot, actually) of things looked kinda out of my league- Tanishq Nandan

What is the relationship between critical angle and negative refractive index?
I know,I accounted for the given answer in the same way,but only after I had consulted the answer key. Before that,I was thinking about critical angles..and I still can't find the wrong in that. The only criterion for the formula,as I stated earlier,is n1>n2,which is obviously true since n2 is...- Tanishq Nandan

What is the relationship between critical angle and negative refractive index?
Homework Statement [/B] Homework Equations Snell's Law: n1sin(i)=n2sin(r) Critical angle=sininverse(n1/n2) [**only works when n2>n1] If a light beam is incident at an interface of 2 mediums(with r.i n1 and n2) at an angle greater than the critical angle, the interface acts as a...- Tanishq Nandan
