Calculating Heat Energy & Temperature Change: Seeking Help!
1.) An iceberg's volume is 2*10^6 m^3. If the temperature of the iceberg is is 250 K and the density is .9998 g/cm^3, how much heat energy would be required to competely melt it? 2.) An object weighs 500 grams and has a specific heat of 2 Joules/g C. The object absorbs 40% of the output of...- Vigo

How Does Temperature Affect Pressure in a Gas Reaction?
A 20 liter stainless steel container was charged with 2 atm of hydrogen gas and 3 atm of oxygen gas. A spark ignited the mixture, producing water. What is the pressere in the tank at 25 degrees C? If the reaction in the above problem occurred at 125 degrees C, what would the pressure in the...- Vigo

Analyzing f'(x) to Find Relative Max/Min of f in Terms of p
For a), I've got the points in terms of p. For b), I'm just not quite sure what they are asking for when they say "distinct roots." For c), I know that to find the average value, you take 1/(-1-2) and multiply that by the definite integral of f'(x) from -1 to 2. Since it has to equal 1...- Vigo

What Is the Domain of the Function f(x)=2x/sqrt(x^2+x+1)?
You are right about the derivative being wrong. The correct derivative is (x+2)/(x^2+x+1)^3/2. It's weird because the note about this wrong derivative was given on the worksheet.- Vigo

What Is the Domain of the Function f(x)=2x/sqrt(x^2+x+1)?
I know we have done domain before but it is a little fuzzy. I know domain is where the x values exist and the range is where the y values exist. These may not be the right defintions but this is how I was taught it. For b), I know that the horizontal asymptotes have the eqaution of y=+ or - 2...- Vigo

What Is the Domain of the Function f(x)=2x/sqrt(x^2+x+1)?
Please Help! Let f be the function given by f(x)=2x/sqrt(x^2+x+1) a)Find the domain for f. Justify your answer. b)Write an equation for each horizontal asymptote of the graph f. c)Find the range of f. Use f'(x) to justify your answer. Note: f'(x)=(x+2)/(x^2 +x+1)^.5 Please help...- Vigo

Analyzing f'(x) to Find Relative Max/Min of f in Terms of p
Let f be the function given by f(x)= (x^3)-(6x^2)+p, where p is an arbitrary constant. a)Write an expression for f'(x) and use it to find the relative maximum and minimum values of f in terms of p. Show the analysis that leads to your conclusion. b)For what values of the constant p does f...- Vigo
