Engineering Finding the radii of curvature for an achromatic lens
Since the two lenses are plano-concave and plano-convex, the lens maker equation can be simplified into containing only 1 R for each of the lens. Substituting the values for the red light, I got: 1/f1=0.51/R1 and 1/f2 = 0.64/R2. Adding these two equations and equating them to 1/(500*10-3)...- youmei0426

Find the RMS current drawn from the 240 Vrms supply
Ah since the impedance is equal to the resistance which is 1 Ohm in both cases, I wrote just I2 and (I1-I2) instead of I2*R and (I1-I2)*R. Sorry should have made that clearer!- youmei0426

Find the RMS current drawn from the 240 Vrms supply
Ah okay, I will just have to work through the very long equations to find the phase and real part then. Thanks!- youmei0426

Find the RMS current drawn from the 240 Vrms supply
My first idea was to find the total impedance of the circuit, but I think viewing the two parallel resistors as one resistor of 0.5 Ohm isn't the correct way? I don't know how to simply this series / parallel circuit further to find Z total. Then I tried to use Kirchhoff's law to the loop on...- youmei0426

Problem concerning a mass with charge in a homogeneous electric field
I know how the answer is C, since E=F/q and F=ma=mg. However, I am a bit confused as to why my other method doesn't work. I thought that since the droplets are falling at a constant velocity, there is not net force, so according to E=F/q the electric field must be zero then? This seems like a...- youmei0426

Correcting Integration of tan^5x: Differentiating and Verifying the Solution
This is my working out, and I also included the correct answer in the last line. The answer used a different method, however, what did I do wrong with my method? Thanks for the help!- youmei0426

How to Convert [I2] Concentration to [H+] Concentration?
I meant how to convert the known [H+] concentration to the [I2] concentration given to me by the graph. Because I need to know the time it takes for the hydrogen to reach the 0.15 mol/L concentration right?- youmei0426

How to Convert [I2] Concentration to [H+] Concentration?
Homework Statement Homework EquationsThe Attempt at a Solution I need to know the time it takes for the [H+] concentration to be 0.15mol/L. However, the graph gives me the [I2] concentration over time, and I don't know how to convert it to the [H+] concentration. How should I solve the...- youmei0426

How Is the Volume of Ethanoic Acid Determined from the Titration Graph?
Homework Statement the question asks for the concentration of ethanoic acid, therefore I need to find out the volume of ethanoic acid used during the titrations. I thought it would be 30mL because that's when the temperature reaches maximum. But the answer says that the volume should be in the...- youmei0426

Le Chatelier's Principle: Equilibrium Shift with Pressure Change
Homework Statement Homework Equations - The Attempt at a Solution I know that the equilibrium will shift to the side with fewer moles of molecules when the pressure is increased according to le Chatelier's principle, so I thought in this case it would shift to the left as there is only 1...- youmei0426

What is the Relation Between Distance and Angle in Double Slit Interference?
I came across another similar problem regarding diffraction grating, and there the diffraction angle is from the normal to the first maximum. So I am a bit confused as to what exactly is the angle in the formula? Thanks!- youmei0426
