Participants share links to resources from different educational institutions and platforms, highlighting the diversity of available content.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Technical explanation
  • Homework-related

Main Points Raised

  • One participant shares a comprehensive collection of links to mathematics courses and lectures from various colleges and universities.
  • Another participant provides links to video lectures from the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications (IMA).
  • Multiple links to specific courses are shared, including those on differential equations, single-variable calculus, and linear algebra.
  • Several participants mention resources from MIT OpenCourseWare, including courses on applied linear algebra and calculus.
  • One participant expresses a personal interest in reviewing calculus material in preparation for an upcoming course.
  • Another participant inquires about finding lectures for a specific course titled "Introduction to Abstract Math," expressing uncertainty about the course's naming conventions at different universities.
  • Links to video lectures on topics such as probability, history of mathematics, and algebraic topology are also shared.
  • Some participants comment on the quality of specific lecture sets and express appreciation for the resources collected.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally agree on the value of the shared resources, but there is no consensus on the quality or comparison of specific lecture sets, as some participants express differing opinions on particular courses.

Contextual Notes

Some links may lead to content with varying levels of depth and focus, and participants have not resolved which resources are most suitable for specific learning goals.

Although it has been mentioned in other threads, I thought I would link this here:
http://www.uccs.edu/~math/vidarchive.html

It is a very large archive of math lectures at undergrad level. (It is also linked from the infocobuild site.)

Anyone know where I could find lectures for a class listed as "Introduction to Abstract Math." Here is a link with info on the class from a previous semester with a different teacher but it is still the same course.
http://faculty.trevecca.edu/sstueckle/courses/2006/Spring/MAT2600/MAT2600_Home.html

Here is a link to the book that was used then but I believe it is a different one now.

I am thinking it may be known as something else at other universities so I am not sure exactly what to look for. I like watching lectures of a class before I start the class so that it is easier when I actually take it.

That's a nice channel. If you go to his website khanacademy.org you can get the videos organized with quizzes etc
