AI Thread Summary
The January 4th, 2010 eclipse was captured in photographs, despite cloudy conditions that aided visibility. The photographer used an EOS camera with a long lens, resulting in slightly cropped images that altered the Sun's angular size. Some dots appearing in one photo were not visible in another, leading to uncertainty about their origin. The photographer shared their images, indicating a 45% coverage of the eclipse from Iran. The discussion highlights the challenges and techniques involved in photographing solar eclipses.

I have already posted the picture in the photography thread, but I will add another here:

It was cloudy (still is, and the eclipse didn't end yet) which helped, as without clouds I doubt I could take the picture. EOS and long lens, pictures are slightly cropped (so the angular size of the Sun is a little bit different).

Dots on the first picture look like a dirt, no idea what they are as they are not visible on the second one.

TL;DR Summary: In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation. In case of failure to detect alien signals, it will further expand the radius of the so-called silence (or rather, radio silence) of the Universe. Is there any sense in this or is blissful ignorance better? In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation.
