Light rays through a window pane
I know a prisim can be used to disperse white light into colors. This does not happen when a beam of light passes through a window pane. Why not?( the light may or may not be entering the glass window along the normal. The light does not disperse into colors). thanks- cowgiljl

Undergrad Light Rays: Photons, Electrons & Gratings
1. The light rays from the sun and artificial lights, are all light rays made up of 'photons' which travel in the form of waves? 2. During a sunstorm, when the Auroras form in the ionosphere by electrons colliding with atomic o2 and atomic nitrogen, can these electrons be thought of as 'Beta...- EIRE2003

Undergrad Equating mass and charge ratio of cathode rays
hi:smile: i was approached by this problem, prove q/m = (2V)/(B^2r^2) [2V over B-squared r-squared] so far i have, F[electric] = qE F[magnetic] = Qvb F[electric] = F[magnetic] therefore, v = E/B ----- now i am a bit confused/wrong ----- E[kinetic] = (mv^2)/2...- redruM

Graduate IMPORTANT QUESTION: Effects of UV and cosmic rays on bismuth
This is an unusually important question. Could one determine the approximate age of a manufactured bismuth/magnesium/zinc composite somehow by the effects of UV, cosmic rays, or some other type of energetic particle acting on the material? For example, by microscopic examination or by some...- Ivan Seeking
