A battery is responsible for supplying a constant current to a circuit?

I guess no, because the current also depends on the resistense

The current depends on the resistance, but the resistance is not " responsible" for it, the voltage is , once the circuit is completed (grounded). Is the battery the cause for the current, or is the battery the source for the voltage that causes the current when the circuit is closed? Your call.
