TL;DR Summary
Is some concerning stenosis common after age 80?
Any gerontology people here? I was wondering if narrowing of one or both carotid arteries to a concerning degree is common in those at age 80 and older? Or is that a less than say 5% of the older population type thing?

I thought we had one carotid artery! Google = 2, there you go.

The extent of the blockage from the excerpts I have read but I have a shallow knowledge @berkeman is a medic.

The abstract, introduction and stenosis evaluation in the paper give an overview and detail on how lumen stenosis is graded and the implications.
