Amount of iron in the solar system

AI Thread Summary
The total amount of iron in the solar system has not been definitively estimated, but discussions indicate that its iron content is comparable to that found in the galaxy. Various forms of iron, including free iron, isotopes, and oxides, contribute to this overall abundance. Comparisons are made between the solar percentage of iron and cosmic percentages, suggesting similarities. Resources like Wikipedia provide insights into the abundance of chemical elements, including iron. Understanding the distribution of iron in the solar system enhances knowledge of cosmic element abundance.

Hi everyone

Does anyone know of any source where the total amount of iron in the solar system has been estimated?

Free iron, isotopes, oxides, etc.

I've been reading here and there about element abundance on Earth and in the cosmos, and am curious if solar percentage of iron is comparable to the percentage in the cosmos.

TL;DR Summary: In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation. In case of failure to detect alien signals, it will further expand the radius of the so-called silence (or rather, radio silence) of the Universe.
