An article on Big Bang theory contradictions

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the validity of the Big Bang theory in light of criticisms presented in an article by Lerner, which claims contradictions in the theory. Participants assert that the Big Bang theory has successfully explained key cosmological phenomena such as nucleosynthesis, galaxy formation, and cosmic microwave background radiation. The consensus is that Lerner's arguments lack scientific credibility, with one participant labeling him a "crank" and emphasizing that the topic is not suitable for serious discussion within the physics community. The thread was subsequently closed to prevent further debate on the matter.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of cosmological principles, including nucleosynthesis and galaxy formation.
  • Familiarity with the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB).
  • Basic knowledge of scientific discourse and peer-reviewed theories in physics.
  • Awareness of common fallacies in scientific arguments against established theories.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the latest findings in cosmology related to the Big Bang theory.
  • Study the implications of cosmic microwave background radiation on cosmological models.
  • Explore critiques of alternative theories to the Big Bang, focusing on their scientific validity.
  • Examine the role of peer review in establishing scientific consensus in cosmology.
USEFUL FOR

Students and professionals in astrophysics, cosmology enthusiasts, and anyone seeking to understand the scientific consensus on the Big Bang theory and its criticisms.

TL;DR
Questions about BB weaknesses
Hi
all, I was reading this article
https://asiatimes.com/2020/11/the-big-bang-never-happened-but-fusion-will/
And I got somewhat confused. As most I've been taught that BB has succeeded in giving most of the cosmological predictions that we observe [nucleosynthesis, formation of galaxies, cmb etc]. I also know that there are fighters of a theory every now and then, blaming the current science for not considering their alternatives.
However I am not very expert to understand if the examples of bb weaknesses are true or if they have already been answered. Eg the 10 times older objects than the age of the universe. Anyone who might want to help?

This is a banned topic. I presume the Mentors will move this out of view forthwith.

This article is bogus and in violation of the Physics Forums mission of accurately presenting science as it is generally understood by professionals in the field.

The thread is closed and remains visible only to refer people to the Lerner article linked by @Bandersnatch.
