Analyzing a Beam with One Degree Freedom in ANSYS APDL

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on analyzing a beam with one degree of freedom using ANSYS APDL. The user reports discrepancies in the calculated period, expecting a value of 2π for a beam where mass equals stiffness (both set to 1), but receiving a different result from the software. This indicates potential issues in the setup or interpretation of the results within ANSYS APDL.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of one degree of freedom systems
  • Familiarity with ANSYS APDL software
  • Knowledge of beam theory and dynamics
  • Basic principles of mass and stiffness in mechanical systems
NEXT STEPS
  • Investigate the correct setup for one degree of freedom analysis in ANSYS APDL
  • Learn about the impact of boundary conditions on dynamic analysis results
  • Explore methods for validating simulation results against theoretical expectations
  • Review ANSYS APDL documentation on dynamic analysis and period calculations
USEFUL FOR

Mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, and students studying structural dynamics who are working with ANSYS APDL for dynamic analysis of beams.

hi every body
I want to analysis a beam with one degree freedom on apdl (ansys software)
This software give me a different period!
for beam with mass=stiffness=1 we must have 2π value for period but this program give me another answer.
