SUMMARY

Digital tablets are suitable for math notetaking, allowing users to transition from traditional marble notebooks to digital formats. Users can write with blunt styluses, effectively handling complex mathematical notations such as sub/superscripts and limits of integration. Several models are recommended for this purpose, enhancing the ability to store and share notes digitally. The discussion highlights the practicality of digitizing notes through photography and PDF compilation as an alternative method.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of digital tablets and stylus technology
  • Familiarity with mathematical notation and symbols
  • Basic knowledge of PDF creation and management
  • Experience with note-taking applications on digital devices
NEXT STEPS
  • Research specific digital tablet models optimized for math notetaking, such as the Apple iPad Pro with Apple Pencil
  • Explore note-taking applications that support mathematical symbols, like Notability or GoodNotes
  • Learn techniques for digitizing handwritten notes effectively, including photography tips for clarity
  • Investigate PDF compilation tools and methods for organizing digital notes
USEFUL FOR

Students, educators, and professionals in mathematics or related fields who are looking to enhance their notetaking efficiency and digital organization.

A little OT perhaps, but I have been considering using a "digital tablet" as my math scratch pad. For years I have used "marble notebooks" but it would be nice to just load my scratchings to my PC so I can email, store them etc.

So-the question is-are digital tablets fine enough for this? I am obviously thinking writing with the blunt stylus, those nasty little sub/super scripts and limits of integration etc. Would like to hear from anyone doing this and what model works for them?

You could just digitize your notes by taking pics and compiling it all in a pdf...
