Programs BsC in Physics, Master in Math. Can he go to Physics PhD

  1. My friend enrolled has a BsC in Physics and he also did a Master's in math in order to be able to cope with the math needed for Theoretical Physics. Can he pursue a physics PhD in USA (he studied in Greece)?

  3. Yes, he can apply for PhD programs in physics in the US. But he'll still have to complete the masters coursework in physics before starting the PhD work; most PhD programs include the masters work.
  4. I know that. I ask because I've heard that many US universities (the prestigious ones at least) are less likely to accept one that has already a Master's Degree.
