Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the construction of an automated guided cart (AGC) using car wiper motors and bicycle wheels. Participants are exploring how to determine the weight limit for the vehicle, considering the power of the motors, which has not yet been established.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Technical explanation
  • Conceptual clarification

Main Points Raised

  • One participant inquires about how to determine the weight limit for the automated guided cart, noting that the power of the wiper motors is not yet known.
  • Another participant questions the feasibility of mounting bicycle wheels to the small shafts of the wiper motors, expressing difficulty in visualizing an effective solution.
  • A participant offers a link to a forum post that may provide helpful information regarding power-to-weight considerations.
  • There is a request for sharing design details via email, indicating a desire for collaboration on the project.
  • A participant raises a question about potential physics-related topics that could be studied using the automated guided cart.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

The discussion does not present a consensus, as participants are exploring different aspects of the project and raising various questions without resolving them.

Contextual Notes

There are limitations regarding the unknown power of the motors and the specifics of the design, which may affect the weight limit calculations and the overall feasibility of the project.

Who May Find This Useful

Hi guys, I am building my own automated Guided CART, using two car wiper motors as my mian motors connected to bicycle wheels, now i want to know how I am going to determine the weight limit that i can put on my vehicle? the power of the car wiper motors are not yet determined

I really don't want to derail, or stray far from your focus, and I promise I'll get back to it, but... How do you plan on mounting bicycle wheels to the motor shaft of a couple wiper motors? they are such small shafts. Sorry if this sounds stupid, I just had a hard time picturing it working effectively.

as far as the power/weight, I found this; http://arduino.cc/forum/index.php/topic,5978.0.html
hope it helps!

Hi, can you send me your email address i'll send you my design :) this AGC is quite rare that is why I am finding a hard time looking for resources

Sure thing! I'll PM you

What Physics related topic can be studied using automatic guided cart?
