Determine fundamental frequency of a vibrating string if two successive harmonics of the string are 180hz and 270hz


Homework Equations


f=1/t
t=1/f


The Attempt at a Solution


I want to say its just f=1/t for both of them but it seems to easy?no?

You don't know what harmonics are, now do you? Why don't you look it up and then we can talk about this further.
 
OH uhh i still don't get it, it kind of clears somethings but still doesn't help, so if you could point me in a closer direction, or a another hint i would be very grateful sir!
 
OKay so everything but the first paragraph seemed irrelevant to me, so this is what i extracted, f is multiplied by an integer and harmonic frequencies are equally spaced by tthe width of the fundamental frequency.
 
According to the table given in the link, for successive harmonics,
fn = 180 and f(n+1) = 270.
Can you find f now?
