SUMMARY

This discussion focuses on calculating the original vectors from a known net force, specifically addressing the scenario where three concurrent forces contribute to that net force. The user has the angle and magnitude of the net force and the angles of the original forces. The solution involves decomposing the forces into their components and setting up a system of equations to solve for the magnitudes of the original forces. This method effectively utilizes vector decomposition and simultaneous equations to derive the required magnitudes.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of vector decomposition
  • Knowledge of concurrent forces in physics
  • Familiarity with solving systems of equations
  • Basic trigonometry for angle calculations
NEXT STEPS
  • Learn about vector decomposition techniques in physics
  • Study how to set up and solve systems of equations
  • Explore the concept of concurrent forces and their applications
  • Investigate the use of trigonometric functions in force calculations
USEFUL FOR

Students and professionals in physics, engineers working with force analysis, and anyone involved in solving vector-related problems in mechanics.

Given the net force how would I go about solving for the original vectors that are being added?

I know what the net forces angle and magnitude is... I need to find the magnitude of the original forces(3 of them) which are added to get the net force; All the original forces are at fixed poistions and I do know their Angles; How would I find the the original forces magnitude's?

Well the forces are probably concurrent, so simply decompose into their components and the resultant force into their components too, and make nxn system of equations (n = number of components).
