The participants seek clarification on solving for variable C in problem 7 and evaluating the infinite series in problem 6. The conversation emphasizes the necessity of providing attempts at solutions to facilitate understanding and learning.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of calculus concepts such as limits and infinite series.
  • Familiarity with summation notation and techniques for evaluating series.
  • Knowledge of algebraic manipulation to solve for variables in equations.
  • Experience with mathematical problem-solving strategies in competitive settings.
NEXT STEPS
  • Review techniques for evaluating infinite series, particularly the convergence of series.
  • Study methods for solving equations involving multiple variables, focusing on substitution and elimination.
  • Practice calculus problems from mathematics competitions to enhance problem-solving skills.
  • Explore resources on advanced calculus topics, including series expansions and their applications.

NOTE: this is not homework problems. I am trying to understand how to prepare for these problems. I don't get how to do number 7. Can you please tell the at least 2 ways you could solve for C?

And solve for number 6? It really confused me when evaluating the ∑ from 0 to ∞.

It still belongs in homework. And you need to provide an attempt.
