Can a Copper Coil Harvest Power from Power Lines for an FM Radio Receiver?

Click For Summary
Building an FM receiver powered by electromagnetic fields from power lines is a feasible idea, with a copper coil potentially serving as the receiving antenna. However, it's important to note that using power harvested from electric company power lines is illegal. The same copper coil may not effectively function as both the power-harvesting antenna and the RF antenna, suggesting the need for separate components. Harvesting energy from household power lines is permissible, provided it's done legally. Overall, the concept presents technical challenges and legal considerations that must be addressed.

I had an idea of building an FM receiver that is powered from the electromagnetic fields generated by power-lines.
My question is , how can I make the electromagnetic field receiving antenna? Will a simple copper coil work? If so, can the same coil be used as the RF antenna or will that have to be separate?

Harvesting unmetered power from electric company power lines is illegal.
But perhaps you are harvesting power from your household power lines.

I built a device designed to brake angular velocity which seems to work based on below, i used a flexible shaft that could bow up and down so i could visually see what was happening for the prototypes. If you spin two wheels in opposite directions each with a magnitude of angular momentum L on a rigid shaft (equal magnitude opposite directions), then rotate the shaft at 90 degrees to the momentum vectors at constant angular velocity omega, then the resulting torques oppose each other...
