SUMMARY

A Junior Chemistry major is planning a challenging fall schedule that includes Inorganic Chemistry, Inorganic Lab, Advanced Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Calculus III. The student expresses confidence in their abilities but is concerned about the time commitment required to excel in these courses. Responses indicate that while the workload is significant, it is manageable for a dedicated student, especially with prior success in Calculus II. The absence of Physical Chemistry in the schedule raises questions about the overall academic trajectory.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of core chemistry concepts, particularly in Inorganic and Organic Chemistry.
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques and safety protocols in chemistry labs.
  • Proficiency in Calculus, specifically Calculus II and III.
  • Time management skills to balance a rigorous academic schedule.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research effective time management strategies for handling multiple rigorous science courses.
  • Explore study techniques specifically for mastering Inorganic and Organic Chemistry.
  • Investigate the importance of Physical Chemistry in the Chemistry curriculum and its applications.
  • Look into resources for supplemental learning in Biochemistry and advanced calculus topics.
USEFUL FOR

Junior Chemistry majors, academic advisors, and students considering a heavy course load in the sciences.

I'm a Junior, Chemistry major. My schedule for the fall is the following.
Inorganic Chemistry, Inorganic Lab, Advanced Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Calculus III. Is this suicidal? or is it possible to pull straight A's having these classes? I have the capacities. I'm just worried about the time. I'm currently taking Calculus II during summer II and doing really well. I feel this could be just as much work as I'm going to have in the fall. Any advices?.

Seems reasonable, though I wonder where your physical chemistry classes are, and why Calculus III (this almost seems like a final year maths course to me).
