Can an Illustrator and Designer become a Physicist?

Hi all,

I stumbled upon this forum really as I've always studied Physics in my spare time but am looking to get a little more serious. I currently work as an Illustrator and Designer and am hopefully going to be embarking on a course in Physics with Mathematics at university soon.

I fear at the moment I will probably provide more questions than answers to the forum if that's alright,
