I am wondering whether there is a possibility to somehow intuitively explain how does that happen that gauge field acquires mass after spontaneous symmetry breaking? I mean something visualizable, not just referring to Lagrangian and the algebra. I would suspect it might be possible at least for superconductors. Any ideas?

Thanks.
