Can We Build Warp Machines for Space Travel?

Click For Summary

Discussion Overview

The discussion centers on the feasibility of building warp machines for space travel, exploring theoretical and practical aspects of warp drive technology. Participants debate the current state of research and design related to warp drives, particularly in the context of NASA's efforts.

Discussion Character

  • Debate/contested, Exploratory, Technical explanation

Main Points Raised

  • Some participants inquire about the possibility of constructing a warp machine for spacecraft and traveling across the universe.
  • Others assert that the concept of warp drives is purely science fiction and not grounded in physics.
  • One participant mentions that NASA has designed a spacecraft utilizing warp drive technology, suggesting that if built, it could become a reality.
  • Another participant questions the practicality of warp drives, emphasizing that NASA is focused on developing a safe replacement for the shuttle.
  • A participant critiques the design presented by NASA as being based on a highly hypothetical propulsion method that likely does not function.
  • Further skepticism is expressed regarding the design, with one participant labeling it as mere artistic representation rather than a viable concept.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants express a range of opinions, with some supporting the idea of warp drives and others firmly rejecting it as unrealistic. The discussion remains unresolved, with competing views on the feasibility and validity of warp drive technology.

Contextual Notes

The discussion highlights varying interpretations of NASA's designs and the speculative nature of warp drive technology, with no consensus on its practicality or theoretical foundation.

Is it possible now that we can built a warp machine and put inside the spacecraft and traveling around the universe?

No, that is sci-fic nonsense, not physics.

but NASA now has design a spacecraft that use warp-drive. If this spacecraft has been built then it will become a reality. How it describe according to physics theoretical.

NASA is still working on a safe replacement for the shuttle!
And so they should.
Warp drives?

That's a preliminary design of a spacecraft that uses an extremely hypothetical form of propulsion that almost certainly doesn't work.

That's waaay too generous: The photo is nothing but art.
