Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around finding online resources for studying physics, particularly for solving problems and recalling important relations in physics and mathematics. The focus includes theoretical concepts, practical applications, and references to specific topics like optical properties of solids.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Homework-related

Main Points Raised

  • One participant expresses a need for a comprehensive web page to solve physics problems and recalls difficulties in remembering relations between units.
  • Another participant provides several links to resources, including HyperPhysics and Light and Matter, suggesting they may be helpful for the inquiry.
  • A different participant mentions a site, noting that while its physics section may not be as strong, it is still a valuable reference, particularly highlighting its math resources.
  • Another suggestion includes Physics Classroom, described as a good website that requires some searching to find specific information.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally agree on the need for online resources for studying physics, but there is no consensus on which specific sites are the best or most comprehensive.

Contextual Notes

Some participants reference specific topics and resources without providing detailed evaluations of their content or effectiveness, leaving the quality and relevance of the suggested sites somewhat uncertain.

Do you know if there is a web page where we can find everything we need to solve physics problems?
i usually forgot physics or math. relations, and always i need a book.

for example, now I am with optical properties of solids, studiing with a teoric physics book. And suddenly, i need to take th ISUnits from the Gaussian units, but i forgot the relation. I have find it, but i spend my time looking to my books!

Physics news on Phys.org
You might want to try this site, though I don't think the physics section is quite as good as their brilliant mathsworld, but still it's one of the best refernce sites on the web.
