I'm obliged for getting matter of fact answers from you.

If the post is edited or removed for using insulting language against somebody, the others should also know of it, because nobody's going to visit an old post. The OP should be reprimanded, depending on the degree of his misconduct. Needn't make a fuss out of it, but an example should be set. And the person with the grievance and the offender both should at least come to know of it. Public image and esteem count a lot in the forum.

We prefer to handle grievances privately rather than publicly. We do keep track of them, so if someone is repeatedly being a "trouble-maker" they will find themselves banned. If it's a one-time mistake or lapse in judgement, there's no need to embarrass them publicly. If the staff agrees there is a problem with a reported post, the person writing the post is reprimanded via private messages. Likewise, we do not reveal the identity of the people making post reports either, so there are no long-term hard feelings among members if everything gets worked out.
