SUMMARY

The discussion centers on finding resources for a concrete structures course, particularly in light of a missing textbook. The user seeks online notes or links to university resources due to language barriers with their lecture notes. They highlight the complexity of reinforced concrete structure design compared to steel design, emphasizing the need for reliable materials. A suggested resource is the PDH Center's course on concrete structures, though it primarily uses USA units, which may not align with SI units.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of reinforced concrete structure design principles
  • Familiarity with structural engineering terminology
  • Knowledge of measurement systems, specifically USA and SI units
  • Basic skills in navigating online educational resources
NEXT STEPS
  • Research online resources for concrete structures, focusing on university notes
  • Explore the PDH Center's course on concrete structures for foundational knowledge
  • Study the differences between reinforced concrete and steel design methodologies
  • Learn about measurement conversions between USA and SI units in engineering contexts
USEFUL FOR

Students enrolled in concrete structures courses, educators seeking supplementary materials, and professionals in structural engineering looking to enhance their understanding of reinforced concrete design.

Hey,

sorry this isn't really a homework question, wasn't too sure where to put it. At the moment I'm taking a concrete structures course. I ordered the textbook online but it's not here yet. I have an assignment due on friday, and really need somewhere to start.

So my question is: Does anyone know somewhere on the net with decent Concrete Structures notes? Or have you taken this unit before and have some links to your universities notes?

The lecture notes for my course are in another language (don't ask), so they're not much help.

You really need a textbook; reinforced concrete structure design can be more difficult than steel design because it involves the composite use of 2 materials.

This site may be of some help for starters, but I don't guarantee its accuracy

Also, it uses the USA units of measure, so if you are using SI (metric units), the USA units will confuse you for sure.
