SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the feasibility of using a dome and sand to extinguish bush fires. Participants agree that the intense heat of a bush fire would evaporate water before it could effectively douse the flames. The idea of using a large cone or dome to cover the fire, along with significant amounts of sand, was proposed but ultimately deemed impractical. The consensus highlights the challenges of controlling bush fires with these methods.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of bush fire dynamics
  • Knowledge of fire suppression techniques
  • Familiarity with heat transfer principles
  • Basic concepts of materials used in fire control
NEXT STEPS
  • Research effective fire suppression methods used in wildfires
  • Explore the physics of heat transfer in fire scenarios
  • Investigate the role of sand in fire containment
  • Learn about innovative technologies for bush fire management
USEFUL FOR

Firefighters, environmental scientists, and anyone involved in wildfire management and prevention strategies.

The heat of a good brush fire will evaporate the water long before it could quench the flames...good idea, though!

When I was young *cough* *cough* I had these ideas:

1, A large cone/dome to cover the fire
2, lots and lots of sand

lol oh well, can't say I tried :P
