SUMMARY

No cure for autism currently exists, as it is a multifactorial genetic condition. The discussion emphasizes that the term "cure" lacks a clear definition in this context. While prenatal testing may guide decisions regarding early treatment options, it does not equate to a traditional cure. The complexities of autism require a nuanced understanding rather than a simplistic solution.

PREREQUISITES

Does such a cure exist?

No and at present it isn't even clear what we might mean by "a cure" for such multifactorial genetic diseases. We can imagine a prenatal test that could be used to guide abortions and early treatment options but not a "cure" in the traditional sense.
