Homework Statement

s = 8sin(125t)e^-7t

Where the value of t is unknown

The Attempt at a Solution

u = 8sin(125t) du/dt = 1000cos(125t)

v = e^-7t dv/dt = -7e^-7t

ds/dt = v*du/dt + u*dv/dt

= (e^-7t * 1000cos(125t)) + (8sin(125t) * -7e^-7t)

Just need to know if my final answer is correct and if not where I have gone wrong. Thanks for any help that may be coming my way

Yup that's right.

There are two things I don't understand about this problem. First, when finding the nth root of a number, there should in theory be n solutions. However, the formula produces n+1 roots. Here is how. The first root is simply ##\left(r\right)^{\left(\frac{1}{n}\right)}##. Then you multiply this first root by n additional expressions given by the formula, as you go through k=0,1,...n-1. So you end up with n+1 roots, which cannot be correct. Let me illustrate what I mean. For this...
