Does Physics Forums Still have independent research section ?

Does Physics Forums Still have "independent research section"?

I remember like in 2011-ish physics forums had a section called "independent research section" I can't find it on the main dash, unless it is hidden somewhere :P

What was the main reason why they removed it if it was every announced?

It was removed, it attracted too many crackpots and needed to much moderation effort.

Bottom line is it required a lot of moderators' (volunteer, unpaid) time compared to the amount of value it added to the forum.
