Hello PF!

I was having a debate with a coworker of mine. We were talking about the properties of springs underwater. He was convinced that it doesn't change, at least when in water. I thought otherwise.

Does a spring's spring constant change if fully submerged underwater?

Does the temperature of the water, extreme hot, extreme cold, change the spring constant of the spring?

What do you all think?

Temperature will affect the spring constant. Simple fact of being submerged under water with temperatures being the same, will not.
