Does the angle of a beam fixed at two points affect the method?

Homework Statement


if a beam fixed at two points is on an angle say 45 degrees from the x or y-axis instead of running parallel to x-axis in most questions does this effect calculations? The force acting upon it would be a load directly downwards

The Attempt at a Solution


As i can do cantilever beam questions and find reaction forces etc i have neglected to add information to points 2 and 3, i am only looking for an answer to whether it is effected or whether you would solve this problem in the usual way

Can you give an example problem and show how you are working it? That would help a lot. Thanks.
 
A figure is really required to make the problem statement clear.
