Drawing a Diode: Battery & Forward Bias

When drawing a circuit diagram with a forward bias dioide, is it the "fat" side of the dioide which is on the same side as the "long" side of the battery?

If the battery is the source and thus providing the bias, yes. If the battery is being charged by another source (which thus provides the bias), no. So, you need to give a little more detail perhaps.
