AI Thread Summary
To extract video from damaged VCDs, using VLC media player is a reliable option, as it can handle many damaged files effectively. If VLC cannot play the video, it is likely not salvageable. For critical data recovery, seeking assistance from a professional data recovery service is recommended. For home extraction, users can try various software tools, but success may vary based on the extent of the damage. The final output formats desired include MOV, MPG, MP4, and WMV.
