heres the problem and its solution:

I understand how to find reactions etc etc, the only thing that i don't understand is how to calculate the net forces that are acting on the pulley. the tension in the line is trying to "straighten" the line out, the pulley is fighting this force to keep the line "bent". how did they calculate the net forces acting on the pulley?

i thought the reaction force of the pulley was acting perpendicular to the segment "BE" but that didn't get me to the correct answer.

nvmd i figured it out. its just the half the angle between BE and the horizontal.
