SUMMARY

This discussion centers on the intersection of fractals and the 3D Game of Life, with participants seeking resources and ideas for combining these concepts. The user expresses interest in exploring Platonic shapes evolving through iterations and requests information on saving creations from specific websites. Additionally, they mention Wolfram's book "A New Kind of Science" as a potential resource for understanding these topics. The conversation highlights the creative potential of merging fractals with cellular automata.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of fractals and their mathematical properties
  • Familiarity with the Game of Life and cellular automata concepts
  • Basic knowledge of 3D modeling techniques
  • Awareness of Wolfram's computational theories and methodologies
NEXT STEPS
  • Research methods for combining fractals with cellular automata in 3D environments
  • Explore software tools for 3D modeling, such as Blender or Unity
  • Investigate academic papers on fractals in computational simulations
  • Study Wolfram's "A New Kind of Science" for insights into complex systems
USEFUL FOR

Artists, game developers, mathematicians, and anyone interested in the creative applications of fractals and cellular automata in 3D environments.

HI all.
Just looking for some ideas or pointers. I wish to pass on an idea to a friend.
I want to look at Platonic shapes in 3D evolving through various iterations.

I've played with pretty fractals and I've played with the 2D and 3D Game of Life games.
both nice diversions :) on a rainy day.
Does anyone know of any papers or sites that have tried to combine the two?

Also. does anyone know how to save a creation in

and/or

Thanks all.

Ahhh I'm also looking for pointers. How can I model the stock market using Fractals? XD

Good luck with the stock market thing. :)
I try to stay away from stocks and bondage.

I'll look into Wolframs' book 'A new kind of Science'.
*shrug* - It's a place to start. I remember sampling it a few years ago when I was trying to learn matematica.

lol I was joking... I thought there's programs for 3D life fractals. They used fractals in star wars... lol
