SUMMARY

The Florida Institute of Technology aerospace engineering students are seeking expert advice on designing and manufacturing a fuel injection system for a liquid fuel rocket engine. They have secured funding for a large-scale engine and possess the necessary skills to undertake the project. The discussion highlights the importance of consulting experienced individuals and suggests reaching out to NASA, which has programs to support university research and extensive experience in liquid fuel injection systems.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of liquid fuel rocket engine design
  • Knowledge of fuel injection system components and functionality
  • Familiarity with aerospace engineering principles
  • Experience with manufacturing processes for aerospace applications
NEXT STEPS
  • Research NASA's university research support programs
  • Explore advanced fuel injection system design techniques
  • Investigate materials and manufacturing methods for aerospace components
  • Learn about testing and validation processes for rocket engine systems
USEFUL FOR

Aerospace engineering students, rocket propulsion researchers, and professionals involved in the design and manufacturing of fuel injection systems for liquid fuel engines.

We are a group of students at the Florida Institute of Technology looking for information on fuel injection systems/manufacturing advice/design advice/any kind of advice that would be imperative to the design of a fuel injection system for a liquid fuel rocket engine. We have funding for a large scale engine but we need aid in the manufacturing of the fuel injection system. We are all Aerospace Engineering students who have the knowledge and skill to work on this project, so there is no need to worry. We have a design but wanted advice from experienced individuals.

Have you approached NASA? They have a number of programs to help university research, particularly as they both have broad experience with liquid fuel injection, and are potential beneficiaries from any advances in the technology.
