PM Inbox Full: Understanding Message Count in All Folders

I've recently been being sent E-mails that tell me that my inbox is full, and that I should delete some PMs. This doesn't make sense to me, because, when I check at the bottom of the main menu, it tells me I only have 35 total PMs.

What's going on? Is there a new limit or something?

You have 35 in your inbox, but the system counts the messages in all of your folders, including Sent Items. Delete your outgoing messages, and see if that doesn't fix things.
