MAST is a tokamak. The stellarator Wendelstein 7-X in Greifswald achieved 8 minutes of plasma containment.

Stability has been the bottleneck forever, not just temperature. If this approach really reduces turbulence consistently, that’s a big step. Curious how scalable it is though, since lab success doesn’t always translate into practical reactors.
