Has superdeterminism been proven recently?

Discussion Overview

The discussion centers around the claim that recent experiments have proven superdeterminism in physics, particularly in the context of quantum mechanics. Participants explore the validity of the claim, the credibility of the referenced materials, and the implications of superdeterminism.

Discussion Character

  • Debate/contested
  • Exploratory

Main Points Raised

  • The original poster expresses confusion about a claim that an experiment from 2000-2012 has proven superdeterminism, seeking clarification and verification.
  • One participant critiques the presentation associated with the claim, labeling it as "quantum woo" due to its lack of citations, unclear graphs, and unusual connections made between quantum mechanics and unrelated topics.
  • The same participant notes that the experiment referenced may reinterpret existing experiments to support superdeterminism without providing notable citations.
  • Another participant identifies the "Tempt Destiny Experiment" as the basis for the claim, highlighting that it relies on predictions of American football games and lacks credible peer-reviewed references.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants do not appear to agree on the validity of the claim regarding superdeterminism, with significant skepticism expressed about the credibility of the references and the presentation. The discussion remains unresolved regarding the proof of superdeterminism.

Contextual Notes

Limitations include the absence of clear references to established experiments, reliance on non-peer-reviewed materials, and the subjective interpretation of the presented claims.

TL;DR
Presentation claims superdeterminism has been proven in an experiment
Recently stumbled across [Unacceptable reference deleted by the Mentors] and the abstract says that an experiment that spanned 2000-2012 has proven that physics is superdeterministic. I have absolutely no background in quantum physics whatsoever which is why I can't verify or reject the claim (Or even understand what most of the abstract is saying for that matter, other than the fact that it says superdeterminism has been proven), but I found it rather strange, so I came here for help and confirmation. Have recent advances in science that I've admittedly not been paying attention to really proven a superdeterministic universe? Sorry if this is a dumb question, it's just that I know almost nothing about Quantum Mechanics, so I didn't know what to even search for to verify the presentation (It has no citations nor is it referred to by others who are either endorsing or rejecting it)

I am sorry for the presenter. I have not heard his speech, but his slides are what I would consider to be "quantum woo". It does not cite other research, it does not use equations, his graphs are not easy to understand, he uses American football teams and astronomy in the background (for something that it is not related to that as far as I can tell), he relates quantum mechanics with grammar, COVID-19 pandemic and topology in unusual ways, he presents this in "Frontiers in Interdisciplinary Theory and Phenomena", and so on.

As for the experiment, he does not cite it in the slides so we cannot know what he is talking about. Either he reinterprets some experiment to support his claims or the experiment is not that notable.

Edit: the rabbit's hole goes deep. If you click in the YouTube link it leads you to his YouTube channel where he links a paper: [Unacceptable reference deleted by the Mentors] From reading the abstract I can tell that for him any Bell tests basically proves superdeterminism because these test do not falsify it ever. Also the 2000-2012 experiment is called the "Tempt Destiny Experiment" where the only references provided are more papers by himself (none from a notable peer-reviewed journal). The experiment consist of making predictions of American football games. I would not give this person any more interest.
