Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the construction of a lifter device that purportedly operates using high voltage electricity to achieve lift. Participants explore design suggestions, including shape and voltage considerations, while seeking advice from others who may have experience with similar projects.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation, Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant mentions their involvement in a physics club and expresses interest in building a lifter that operates at a voltage of at least 25 kV.
  • Another participant suggests avoiding the term "antigravity," indicating a preference for more precise terminology.
  • A participant notes that most designs they have encountered feature a basic triangular shape, but they have also seen variations that include circular and hexagonal elements, questioning if there is a superior design.
  • One participant seeks further ideas or guidance on whether there is a more appropriate section of engineering for this discussion.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

The discussion does not appear to reach a consensus, as participants express varying opinions on design shapes and terminology, and there is an ongoing search for more information and suggestions.

Contextual Notes

Participants have not provided specific details on the underlying principles or mechanisms of the lifter, and there are no established guidelines for the design or construction process discussed.

hola. I am not sure what specific place this should be so i figure general will do. i am in a physics club and our first project is a lifter. it apparently lifts above the ground using electricity (at least 25 kv). you can find videos and information online if you wish (amazing1.com/grav.htm has a video). so, i was wondering if there were any suggestions anyone would like to give into building this...shape, voltage, anything at all really. have any of you built one? thank you very much

Engineering news on Phys.org
There is a thread on lifters HERE. Try not to use the word "antigravity" - it triggers my gag reflex.

it didn't really give much on design. most pictures show the basic triangle. I've seen some utilizing circular with triangles and even a hexagon. is there a better shape or mixture of shapes?

anyone have any ideas? or is there a better section of engineering to post this?
