Heheheeheheheheeeheeheh.

Damn, that movie is funny.

Everyone on PF should watch this movie.

I think that I saw it several years ago, but I can't remember it. That was Mel Brooks, right? With John Candy and Rick Morainas?

You are correct sir.

I saw it for the first time a few weeks ago. Pretty funny.

Hmm, I may have to watch that.

EXCELLENT movie. I still say the line from it: "They've switched from suck to blow." whenever I see something go from bad to worse.

Colonel Sanders: Prepare ship for lightspeed!
Dark Helmet: No, no, no! Lightspeed's too slow!
Colonel Sanders: Lightspeed too slow?
Dark Helmet: Yes. We're going to have to go right to...Ludicrous speed! (everyone gasps)
Colonel Sanders: Ludicrous speed? Sir, we've never gone that fast before...I don't know if the ship can take it!
Dark Helmet: What's the matter, Colonel Sanders? Chickennn?!

*after the ludicrous speed fiasco*

Colonel Sanders: Are you alright sir?
Dark Helmet: Fine. How have you been?
Colonel Sanders: Fine sir.
Dark Helmet: Good.
Colonel Sanders: It's a good thing you were wearing that helmet.
Dark Helmet: Yeah..
Colonel Sanders: What should we do now, sir?
Dark Helmet: Well...are we stopped?
Colonel Sanders: We're stopped, sir.
Dark Helmet: Good. Why don't we take a five minute break.
Colonel Sanders: Very good, sir.
Dark Helmet: Smoke if you got 'em. (Dark Helmet falls to the ground)my favorite part:

SANDURZ Try here. Stop.

The movie stops at the exact same thing that is
actually happening now. HELMET looks at the camera, then he turns back
to the monitor. SANDURZ looks at the camera when HELMET looks back at the
monitor, then he looks back at the monitor. HELMET looks at the camera
when SANDURZ looks back at the monitor. When HELMET turns back, he waves
his hand. He turns back to the camera.

HELMET What the hell am I looking at? When does
this happen in the movie?

SANDURZ Now. You're looking at now, sir. Everything
that happens now, is happening now.

HELMET What happened to then?

SANDURZ We passed then?

HELMET When?

SANDURZ Just now. We're at now, now.

HELMET Go back to then.

SANDURZ When?

HELMET Now.

SANDURZ Now?

HELMET Now.

SANDURZ I can't.

HELMET Why?

SANDURZ We missed it.

HELMET When?

SANDURZ Just now.

HELMET When will then be now?

CORPORAL rewinds the tape. He stops at the point
when LONE STARR, BARF, VESPA, and DOT are walking through the desert.

SANDURZ Soon.

HELMET How soon?

Spaceballs was OK, but I liked the sequel better. Spaceballs 3: The Search for Spaceballs 2.

  • #14
There was a sequel? What happened to Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money?

Hooray! My favourite bit in Spaceballs is the bit where there's the monitor on the wall but it turns out just to be a window in a door. Fantastic.

Doesn't beat Airplane or Blazing Saddles though, but those are less relevant.
