How did you find PF?
I asked about a good site to learn physics for beginners and not in a boring way
Hi, I love logic and reading, I like math ( especially calculus ), learning useful or funny things, I can draw well, I'm new here and don't know a lot about physics ( just my curriculum), I'm in my senior year of high school and I want to study engineering, maybe mechanical engineering.

I'm still figuring things out and trying to expand my knowledge. English isn't my native language, I'm from Egypt. My friends say I'm creative but I don't think so, but I wanna be more creative and bring great things to the world and humanity.

I wanna study engineering, learning coding, physics, logic, English and maybe French. This website seems an ocean. I support combining science with art as much as possible. I prefer logic, psychology ( I don't prefer Sigmund fraud). I'm a beginner in physics. I'm 17 years old.

I admire Lise Meitner ( she was a great woman! It's wonderful when ethics meets science ), Angela Merkel & Samira Mousa. I don't like or support wars or harmful conflicts, sometimes I wonder how all people can really live together when their ideologies differ in a blatant and contrary way, and that gives me the idea that humanity will never find real peace..i know it seems pessimistic 🫥. A silly thing to say,

I'm ENTJ ( but people shouldn't act or feel the pressure to act what their silly mbti character often does). I liked reading since I was a kid but I was so shy to go to the library and instead I spent my time playing Minecraft & plants vs zombies ( but if there's an exciting book I'd finish it in one session).

As a kid, I used to wander in my classes whether tried or not, if something doesn’t excite, then it feels like eating bitterness to focus on or bear it . I got As in my high school years but didn't study well, I'd cram lessons a few hours before the exam, I remember cramming half the math curriculum in an hour and going to the exam ( I got 39/40 and the mistake was due forgetting the needed principle for the question 🫤), but I admit it was reckless of me, I've started to be a better student and study regularly.

I overcomed my shyness 4 years ago, my friends say I'm funny and witty, but I wasn't that funny, I just improved my humor. I believe in hard smart work. As long as we're alive we mustn't stop learning and improving, that's my life principle.

=> If you reached to this point then can you tell me if there's a funny helpful topic to start with?

Yes, PF is vast and full of adventure (of learning). You found the right place.

Good choices. But remember to stay flexible as you explore your options through the rest of high school and for the first year or two of university. You may find that your passions shift as you take more classes and find out what you really enjoy learning about and applying in practice.

Your English appears fine, or at least the translations are fine. One tip -- the word "wanna" is best changed to "want to", since the word wanna is usually associated with small children in the English language. It's not your fault since the word is apparently taught in English classes in some parts of the non-English speaking world, but it will help the quality of your posts here if you avoid that word.

Welcome to PF!

Thanks for your notes, I appreciate them! Plus, can you suggest a topic that doesn't require strong prior knowledge in physics and isn't boring? I know this varies from person to another, but can you suggest some good topics?

( Plus in Egypt, you have to come up with a specific percentage in the last year in order to be able to enroll in the college you want, then in the faculty of engineering, you have to obtain the required percentage to join the department you want, there are no optional subjects, they're imposed on you 😶 ).

Plus I haven't decided yet, I like problem solving, logic, making meaningful things, analysing, combining creativity, science and art together, understanding the reasons behind things. So I think engineering is better for me cuz it gives me the ability to trunk my knowledge into reality, but I'm not sure what is the department that fits me well, what is the department that you think it fits me? I know you cannot determine based on limited info but maybe you have a good suggestion.

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
