How Can an Egg Drop Project Maximize Bounces?

Hello, i have been working these past few days ona physics projet regarding energy.

The premise is to have an egg drop kinda deal, where the egg has to survive a 1m drop, AND get as many bounces as possible.

Now, we have started like this:

we have an air filled bouncing ball, which we have cut a hole in.

and we made a mount for an egg, out of 2 spray can lids + bubble wrap. This container is duct taped shut. 6 Springs are then attached to this, and 3 to either side of the ball. (the inside)

The ball was then sealed shut with silicone and duct tape.

After bouncing it, the egg appears to survive, but we get very little bounce. It sounds as if the inside container is not in phase with the bounces. So we think destructive wave interfearance...

If anyone has any ideas about this, id love to hear them :)
Oh, as a requirement, we have to use elastic energy.

It sounds to me like your ball isn't sealed well.
