How can I calculate cos ^2 (53)?

What don't you understand? I assume you have a calculator and you realize that cos ^2 (53) = [cos(53)]squared.
 
Take the cos of the angle, [itex]\cos[/itex], then square the value obtained, [itex]x^2[/itex].
