Question about "Condensation of Space"

Uhm hi!

I was listening to Dr. Kaku on Coast to Coast Sunday, and had a question about something he mentioned, namely that he thought that strings were formed from the condensation of space.

I was wondering, and forgive if this is a silly question, but I'm only just delving into this realm, largely thanks to hearing Dr. Kaku speak on TechTV and Coast to Coast, how does space, or a vacuum, condense? And does this mean that a vacuum is a type of chemical reactor?

Again, sorry if this question is simlplistic or silly.

Thanks!

Michio Kaku has a history of saying things that are more fluff than substance. He appears, unfortunately, to be more interested in getting attention than saying things that make sense.

I have no idea what he could have meant by "condensation of space." It doesn't make sense.
