I am going to transfer from a CC to the state flagship university
The discussion revolves around the question of what extracurricular activities are both easy to undertake and impressive for college applications, particularly for students transferring from community colleges to state universities. Participants explore various options, weighing the merits and implications of different activities.
Participants express a range of opinions, with no clear consensus on the best approach to extracurricular activities. Some advocate for authenticity and passion, while others focus on strategies to enhance applications, leading to a mix of agreement and disagreement.
Participants note that the perceived ease or difficulty of activities can vary based on individual circumstances, and some activities may require more commitment than initially suggested.
This discussion may be useful for students considering transfer applications to universities, particularly those seeking advice on how to enhance their extracurricular profiles effectively.

At all costs, ignore this incredibly awful advice. You never know when such a lie will catch up with you, and when it does you are toast, and more or less forever.AUMathTutor said:Well, you could always start an organization for anything, and say you're the founder. Who cares if you're the only member and if the group never does anything. The fancier the name, the better. You could always lie about what the group does, or actually do some very small things that technically qualify...

Admission people are usually able to differentiate between the candidate who spends every Saturday tutoring at a storefront literacy center and the classmate who spent an hour on the Students Against Styrofoam Dance Decoration Committee.

He didn't say he wanted to do something he cared about. He didn't say he wanted to mature. He said he wanted to game the system. I told him out to give it a shot. If he's serious about gaming the system, he can get away with it. I would write a self-help book about the subject, but I'm just too apathetic.
