The discussion revolves around solving a linear equation presented as 0,3x-6-x=-4,6. Participants are attempting to find the value of x while navigating through the steps of simplification and calculation.
The discussion is ongoing, with participants expressing confusion over their results and the steps taken. Some guidance is offered regarding the treatment of coefficients and the order of operations, but there is no explicit consensus on the correct approach or solution.
There appears to be confusion regarding the notation used (e.g., commas versus decimal points) and the implications of the operations performed. Participants are also grappling with the correct interpretation of coefficients in the equation.
This isn't right. 0,3x - x does not equal -0,3x. It may be easier to think of it as;MathNub said:0,3x-6-x=-4,6|+6
0,3x-x=1,4
-0,3x=1,4|:0,3

x=2
the bold should be -0.7, not 0.7.No...MathNub said:0,3*2-6-2=0,6-8=-7,4
you need to follow the order of operations! Ignoring that we have the wrong answer for the moment, the multiplication comes first, then the 1st subtraction, and then the 2nd subtraction. You multiplied, and then did -6-2, which is wrong.
